Office Specialist Training Program

What is it? 

The Office Specialist Training Program is an intensive short-term job training program designed for anyone seeking new career opportunities in the field of business. We provide the skill development and enhancement to qualify you for administrative office support positions. The program instructor endeavors to create an environment where you can

  • grow in confidence

  • obtain help with issues blocking job success

  • gain the competitive edge in today's job market

What are the admission requirements? 

Previous course work or placement test scores that meet the following minimum standards:

  • reading placement level: RD 115
  • writing placement level: WR 95
  • math placement level: MTH 20
  • ability to type accurately by touch at least 30 wpm

When is it offered? 

Qualified students may enroll at the beginning of fall, winter, spring, or summer terms. 

Where is it offered?

All training is conducted at the Harmony Site of Clackamas Community College at 7616 SE Harmony Road, Milwaukie, OR 97222. 

What does the training involve?

  • Word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications using current software 
  • Office management and administrative procedures 
  • Records management 
  • Business English-writing, editing, and proofreading skills 
  • Business math, 10-key, and electronic calculator applications 
  • Introductory accounting concepts 
  • Human relations issues and team problem solving skills 

Students can earn as many as 33 credits upon completion of the program.
